This week Loaded met cage fighter Jack ‘The Stone’ Mason. Remember the name, he’s the underdog cage fighter taking on Katie Price’s new fella Alex Reid in a fight, next month. Now, because of his newfound celebrity, quite a few people want to see ‘The Reidenator’ spread over the floor like marmalade, and Mason believes he’s the man to do it.

“He’s pulled out of two fights with me already,” says the City worker from Chelmsford, Essex. “Now he’s got it all his own way, the fight is on,” says Mason. Reid specified the fight had to be K1 (That’s Thai style: Standing up, punching and kicking, no fighting on the floor), because Mason is renowned for destroying his opponents on the mat.

“He’s the favourite,” admits Mason, “but this is my debut fight and I’m going out there to knock him out. I hit like Tyson.”
According to Jack, Reid’s relationship with Jordan will be affecting his training. Particularly when Loaded show Jack photos of Reid taking a gentle jog with Jordan on the beach.

Mason hard at work, four weeks to fight night

“Because of the Jordan stuff, this bloke is in the limelight,” says Mason, who instead of attending celebrity parties is training in a ‘spit and sawdust’ gym in Cambridge, lifting truck tyres and smacking things with sledge hammers.

“I’ve been training my bollocks off,” the fighter tells Loaded, before revealing that Reid has quite the reputation in the world of Cage fighting.
“In his last fight, Reid dropped a guy with his knee and he fell to the ground. The medics were seeing to him, but Reid put his foot on top of the bloke’s head and posed for a photo. It was disgraceful."

“He’s a weird looking bloke. I met him once- he’s got no nipples. That strikes me as a bit strange. I asked him where his nipples were and he just sighed and said, ‘don’t ask!’”

Loaded checks various promotional photos- Reid’s nipples are always covered by cleverly placed words. Strange.
All we do know is that this is shaping up to be a very interesting fight. We’ll be there, will you?
