We've been waiting 15 years to be able to skid a podgy plumber from the left of the screen to the right – just to save a princess who's incapable of going a whole day without being kidnapped – again. And it's well worth it. Most of the action occurs in wonderful 2D, with a small sprinkling of the slightly more upmarket 3D. Brave new features include a mushroom that makes you grow even bigger than usual, and a different coloured Koopa shell. Heady stuff. The DS was made for classics like this. Enjoy.
