GAME OF THE WEEK
Vice City Stories
- PC & Console
- £39.99
- Released: 03/11/06
It's the latest and best instalment of Rockstar's magnificent GTA series and surely the reason the PSP was invented. You can now nick cars, bikes, choppers, boats, planes AND jetskis. You can swim, you can blow shit up, go anywhere and do anything to a top-notch soundtrack from 1984, which is when the game's set (two years before the original Vice City). You play the on-leave soldier brother of Lance Vance from the first game, back in town and helping bro out of his various criminal scrapes. There are eight radio stations playing stuff like Foreigner, Phil Collins and Yazoo, plenty of well-funny radio chit-chat, and over 70 missions in a massive Miami-style city. It boasts some beautiful graphics, too. Improved water-effects means that jet-skiing around the city's beaches and waterways looks fantastic, and there's the usual heady mix of stylish action and extreme violence you'd expect. There's also more variety in the pedestrians and cars too. This will consume your every waking hour. Go buy it immediately.
